Let a tax lawyer in Sacramento help you get back on track!!!
More and more studies are released on almost a daily basis on how stress relates to our physical health, and why wouldn’t it. Everything in our environment affects us in one-way or another. The intangible things we put into our minds are just as important as the food we eat. Financial dues are one of the main culprits when it comes to the types of stress that take the biggest toll.
A study done in 2013 form Northwestern University found that adults 24-32 that had high dues-to-assets ratios, generally reported to have poor health. Their blood pressure also tended to be higher as well.
“We were a bit surprised to see these effects in people so young and otherwise healthy,” says study author Elizabeth Sweet, Ph.D., now an assistant professor of anthropology at the University of Massachusetts Boston, “but it just goes to show you how salient dues is as a health issue in today’s society.”
They also concluded in the study that people that are in financial past dues have stress levels 11.7% higher than average compared to those people who aren’t in that situation. With higher stress levels, people are more likely to suffer from anxiety, depression and other mental health issues. Higher stress levels are also linked to lower immunity levels and more frequent trips to the doctor. The unfortunate thing about financial stress is that people are less likely to go to the doctor to treat it due to their financial situations.
So what’s the solution then? Well, just as many of us have no idea about the medical profession, we are sometimes just as clueless about the financial profession. Sometimes getting the perspective of a professional is a good idea to eliminate stress.
